With the mission to transport people to the solar cell plant located in the picturesque town of Blangslev in Denmark, the visionary VR/AR production studio KHORA collaborated with Better Energy to craft a collection of five captivating VR films. These immersive experiences, created with the cutting-edge technology of Mistika VR, enable viewers to explore the plant's installations.
Exploring the solar park through Interaction
Better Energy has developed an immersive and interactive app designed for VR headsets that educate users about the operations of a solar park and its significant role in addressing climate change.
Christopher Schnoor, Film Producer and Partner at KHORA, highlighted that the renewable energy company recognized various challenges and the expense associated with physically visiting their solar park. As a result, they found the ideal solution in VR technology to overcome these limitations. By adopting this innovative approach, Better Energy can revolutionize the way they showcase their vision and work, breaking free from conventional methods.
Collaborative innovation and cinematic excellence
In order to bring this project to life, the team at KHORA collaborated closely with both the client and industry subject experts. According to Christopher Schnoor, they consulted with Better Energy's advisors, having ongoing conversations to refine the script, capture footage, conduct initial editing, and make necessary adjustments for a polished final product. It was a collaborative effort, ensuring the end result was well-crafted and met the project's goals.

During filming, the team used a custom 3D printed rig attached to a drone, allowing for a 360 camera setup. However, one of the major challenges encountered was the unpredictable weather, as overcast skies are common in Denmark. To capture the most breathtaking footage, the KHORA team meticulously planned their shoot around the golden hour' for optimal filming conditions. This carefully planned approach allowed them to show the park's beauty to it's fullest extent.
Seamless immersive journeys with Mistika VR's Optical Flow
Another challenge that arose during post-production was managing the lines of the large solar panels which could appear distorted in the stereoscopic 360 view if not handled with care and precision.
