Arts Alliance Media (AAM), the global leader in digital cinema software and support services, has today announced plans to open over 200 new drive-in movie theatres around the UK by December 2023.
Capitalising on the locations' accessibility, large parking area, and lack of light pollution, AAM has selected the counties of Somerset, Devon, and Shropshire to construct an initial 207 new drive-in theatres where families can enjoy classic westerns and slashers.
Naysayers may scrutinise the location and targeted demographic, however our days of research suggest an untapped market for delivering a niche moviegoing experience in areas of the UK with a lesser screen count, said Dale Miller, CCO at Arts Alliance Media.
In an effort to promote the new drive-in theatres, AAM has announced that early-bird ticket holders will receive free popcorn, movie merchandise, and a full MOT upon arrival. Construction on the 207 sites will begin in the summer of 2023.
