Reduction of Business Days in April at Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba Group Companies in Japan

In response to the Japanese government's strong request to people to observe stricter social distancing, Toshiba Groups domestic bases, including branch offices, branches, sales offices and factories, will reduce the number of business days in April, mainly by advancing holidays that were scheduled to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics.

Although the government declared a state of emergency, the number of people infected with the coronavirus has continued to increase, most of all in the seven prefectures subject to the emergency declaration. In light of this, Toshiba Group is acting to minimize interpersonal contacts throughout the group in Japan.

This change of business calendar applies only to domestic operations. In its overseas operations, Toshiba Group will continue to follow the guidance and instructions provided by national and local governments.

Toshiba Group's business domains cover social infrastructure and other areas that sustain society, and Toshiba is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities as a supplier and a corporate citizen. As it continues to implement thorough measures to minimize risk of infection, Toshiba will ensure delivery, maintenance, service support and operations that maintain essential social services, based on mutual consultation with customers and business partners.

This calendar revision is not expected to impact on FY2020 business results.

Closed days: April 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27 and 28

The last business day of the month will be April 17, and the first business day of May will be May 7, after Japan's Golden Week spring holiday.

Substitute business days will vary by company.
