Clint Eastwood and the Empty Chair Intrigued Viewers Acro the World

New York, NY, September 4, 2012 - The Clint Eastwood's appearance at the Republican National Convention was broadcast in over 30 countries following the event according to Civolution's Teletrax broadcast intelligence. Clips of Mr. Eastwood's speech, in which he spoke to an empty chair as if president Obama were sitting in it, were broadcast nearly 5,000 times on the Teletrax global network from Friday August 31st through Labor Day.

Teletrax monitors video on over 1,900 television channels throughout the world. Television stations from Brazil to Iran to Japan showed footage from various speeches of the Republican National Convention (RNC). More precisely, the RNC footage was actually detected in eight countries in the Middle East and six Asian countries as well as other international networks that span those regions. The piece was also detected in 27 European countries and Australia. Overall 24% of RNC broadcasts detected were outside of the U.S.

While noteworthy, video of Clint Eastwood's speech, shown 4,969 times, was a distant second to footage of the acceptance speech by Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, which was broadcast 15,960 times over the same period. Other widely shown moments were Marco Rubio's speech with 1,530 airings and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan's acceptance speech with 637 airings.
