Chinese state television CCTV equips new channel with Sachtler camera supportEching, Germany: May, 2012 Completely equipped with Vitec Videocom: A new news and magazine-programming channel of Chinese state television (CCTV) will be launched with equipment from Vitec Videocom brands. The entire volume of the order amounts to over 1.2 million US dollars.
In addition to bags by Petrol Bags and LED lights by Litepanels, camera support by Sachtler is also a part of the team. We looked at all the brands on the market, and Sachtler came out on top in our tests, said Hu Ruilin, CCTV's project manager for the new channel. "When selecting tripods, we especially valued dependability and set-up speed. Our giant country is home to a variety of weather conditions. The equipment has to be able to withstand them and this is exactly the case with Sachtler."
ENG equipment will include 180 DV 10 fluid heads, which are ideal for more lightweight camera set-ups of up to 12 kg (26 lbs). In addition, 130 Video 18, Video 20 and Video 25 tripod systems will be used for EFP.
In 2011, CCTV had already relied on tripod systems and the artemis camera stabilizer system by Sachtler.
