LIN Media Taps Masstech for News System to Archive News Content, Encourage Content Sharing Between LIN Stations, and Simplify Workflows for Journalists

TORONTO, Canada, September 19, 2013 Masstech Group, the leading provider of solutions that transform content into valuable assets, announced today that LIN Media, a local multimedia company with 43 television stations and seven digital channels located in 23 U.S. markets, will begin deploying the award-winning Masstech for News system at its television stations. This first phase of the deployment sets the stage to begin sharing and publishing news content between newsrooms throughout LIN Media.

Masstech for News is the first solution that allows journalists to drive a company's media asset management system directly from within Avid iNEWS and Associated Press ENPS newsroom computer systems (NRCS). This integration gives journalists unprecedented rapid, direct, non-disruptive access to content stored locally or anywhere within a broadcast group. This access encourages creative flexibility and heightens productivity in the newsroom. At NAB 2013, Masstech for News was the winner of the 2013 IABM NAB Game Changer Award, 2013 TV Technology STAR Award, and 2013 Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award.
