Two Leading Media Industry Association Identify Masstech Emerald for News as Product with Potential to Revolutionize Broadcast Industry

TORONTO, Canada, April 10, 2013 Masstech Group, the leading provider of powerful tools that transform content into assets, announced today that it had been presented with the coveted Game Changer award by the IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) and the National Association of Broadcasters at the NAB Show 2013. The panel of judges selected the recently introduced Masstech Emerald for News media asset management system (MAM) as one of five products judged to have the greatest potential to revolutionize the industry.

The Game Changer Awards were open to all broadcast, digital media, and entertainment industry manufacturers and their products, and the award winners were selected by a panel of impartial experts who toured the show undercover and reviewed products and solutions during the first two days of the show.

There are no external application interfaces for news staff to learn, and technical processes such as archiving, conform, transcoding are automated and invisible to the user.

With Masstech Media Wire, each station within a group becomes a news bureau that provides content that can be shared with and used by all the other stations in the group. Journalists can publish complete stories, slugs, footage and other assets via this wire so they can be used by all stations to expedite delivery of breaking news, provide exclusive content, and meet other news requirements. This content is made available without requiring any manual uploads, downloads, transcodes or other time-consuming, complex operations.
