We are pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Mundy as Thomsons new Director of Research, Policy and Impact. Gary will join the organisation in March 2025, bringing with him extensive experience in research and evidence-led practice within the NGO and media development sectors.
Gary has spent the majority of his career producing research and evidence to inform practice and demonstrate impact. Since 2022, he has been leading research and policy at Career Connect, a national education and employability charity in the UK, based in Liverpool. Prior to this, Gary spent 14 years living and working in Vietnam and Thailand with two US development organisations and the British Council. His international journey began as a research manager with BBC Media Action, where he led impactful projects across Africa.
On his appointment, Gary said: I hoped for an opportunity to return to media development and so feel very fortunate to be joining Thomson Foundation. I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues and to helping enhance Thomson's reputation in research and to demonstrate the impact delivered through its work.
Thomson's Chief Executive Caro Kriel said: Gary's wealth of experience and dedication to evidence-based practice will be invaluable in shaping our research and policy agenda. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team and look forward to the contributions he will make to advancing our mission.
About Thomson Thomson has been at the forefront of supporting media worldwide for over 60 years.
