Vice-presidents for tve film awards bring wide-ranging sustainability and business expertise

Sustainability communications strategist Victoria Brooks joins business woman and entrepreneur Grace Bian as vice-president of the tve Global Sustainability Film Awards together with Fastflow Group. Victoria has chaired the shortlisting panels for the Awards for the last three years, and been an Awards judge for the last five years.

Companies are invited to enter films which focus on their efforts to address the Sustainable Development Goals and the Awards are now open for entries in five categories: Sky: Beyond Plastic; Protecting the Environment; Transforming Society; Reshaping the Economy and Global Digital Futures in partnership with Grace Bian.

It's been fascinating, as short-listing chair, to see first-hand how companies are increasingly understanding the power of a strong sustainability film to inspire change both within their business and more broadly within society,' says Victoria. These Awards, over the last seven years, have played their part in making that happen. So it is very exciting to have been invited to take on the role of vice-president this year, alongside Grace. I'm looking forward to working with the tve team to make this year's Awards even more impactful.'

Victoria is a catalyst for change within the UK advertising industry. Drawing on her 15 years as a strategist within agencies, she recently co-authored Pioneering Communications: Innovation and Opportunity in Advertising Sustainability', while director of strategic partnerships at London-based, The Comms Lab. Earlier this year, Victoria curated the BloomFest Naked Truths' conference in London, aimed at tackling taboo barriers to women's success in the industry including ageism, sexual harassment and equal pay. Victoria is currently the head of programmes at UK ad industry women's organisation Bloom, alongside running her sustainability communications consultancy.

Victoria joins Claudine Blamey, head of sustainability and stewardship at The Crown Estate, who is president of this year's Awards, and Grace Bian, chair of the China International Culture Stock Exchange who is vice-president of the Awards for the third year running.

The tve Global Sustainability Film Awards are organised annually by the charity tve and are now in their 7th year. Claudine Blamey, head of sustainability and stewardship at The Crown Estate, is president of the 2018 Awards which are now open for entries. The film competition for companies and institutions recognises those whose films most powerfully portray solutions for sustainability. For the third year running it focuses on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which set ambitious targets for world development: eradicating poverty and hunger; ensuring good health, quality education and gender equality; and setting targets for affordable and clean energy, climate action and responsible consumption and production. gsfa.tve.org

Victoria Brooks is a sustainability communications strategist. Her experience bridges the advertising industry, global brands and NGOs, enabling Victoria to deliver high impact social and environmental campaigns. In partnership with Sony Europe and Naked, she executive-produced the documentary The Forest Guards' for the National Geographic channel. She also originated a digital crowd-sourcing platform, Sony's Open Planet Ideas, with IDEO and WWF, which won the Guardian Sustainable Business Award for Communicating Sustainability.
