
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is calling for public screening proposals in celebration of South Africa's 30 Years of Democracy . The screening can be outdoor, indoor, and or drive-in format. The funding cap for these screenings is R150 000.00 for one to three film screenings.
In anticipation of the landmark achievement of 30 Years of Democracy, the NFVF wishes to encourage and support public screening events to showcase films that are created by South African filmmakers addressing the milestones and achievements of our democracy. These screenings, which should be implemented between September and December 2024, are intended to support the ongoing efforts of driving the recovery of the industry through screenings that will provide entertainment through the distribution of content and provide filmmakers and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to create jobs while developing audience appreciation of the works accomplished by the film industry.

Applications which do not meet compliance will be disqualified
Eligibility:
For the interested service provider to be considered, they must meet the following requirements:
Must be a South African citizen
The company to be at least 51% owned and managed by the applicant
Tier breakdown:
Tier 2 (Intermediate Public Screening) public screenings that have been in existence for more than 5 years and less than 10 years
Tier 3 (Emerging Public Screening) hosts public screenings that have been in existence for less than 5 years
Opening date for submissions: 25 March 2024
Closing date for submissions: 15 April 2024
Documentation and Information Required:
A one- page letter of motivation (Must indicate the aims and objectives of the project, how they will achieve a return on investment, and the benefits to the local film industry).
A detailed project plan and programme, including a proposed screening schedule (listing the names of films, dates, times, and venues of screenings).
An audience development plan and strategy.
A detailed project budget.
A certified copy of the Applicant's South African identity document (Dated within six months at the date of application) or valid permit or proof of permanent resident status.
A certified copy of the company's registration document.
Valid BBBEE certificate or the BBBEE affidavit, signed by a commissioner of Oath
Valid company tax clearance certificate or tax compliance pin document from SARS
A bank account confirmation letter (dated within three (3) months at the date of application).
A company profile including a detailed CV of the project director and his/her team that will be working on this project/
Film Publication Board Certificate - This will be required at the contracting stage for approved proposals.
