Cambridge-based media asset and metadata management specialist, IPV, today announced the full integration between its Curator Media Asset Management and Quantum's StorNext 5 storage platform.
IPV's Curator Media Asset Management products coupled with Quantum's StorNext 5 platform create a powerful and collaborative solution that is ideal for broadcast production and post production companies.
Curator's integration with StorNext 5 brings many benefits, such as its high speed file system support, which provides seamless integration with IPV's Adobe Panels including partial file restores. Also, status and health monitoring dramatically reduces the complexities around system management. It also offers fully automated, policy-based content management across different stages of the workflow, enabling customers to match the most cost-effective storage medium with their access requirements.
In addition to tape, StorNext can archive content to Quantum's Lattus extended online storage, a petabyte-scale, object storage-based solution that provides quick and easy access to content for reuse and re-monetisation. Joint customers will also benefit from Quantum's new Q-Cloud solutions, which enable users to combine public cloud storage with on-premise storage in an intelligently managed, application-centric architecture. This comprehensive approach provides customers with an optimal mix of performance, access, scale, and efficiency.
IPV's EVP for Sales and Marketing, Nigel Booth commented that as important as the preservation of an archive is, if you cannot search for and find your assets then you may as well not own them. This is where Curator's Metadata Management and Data Governance tools, coupled with StorNext, ensure that content is found quickly and automatically moved to the most appropriate type of storage. This integration provides an intelligent and reliable foundation for a wide variety of every day operations, such as high speed editing or partially restoring content for automated repurposing including delivery to a multitude of platforms. Booth continues, IPV's advanced search capabilities and seamless integration with StorNext ensures content is always available, whatever your workflows.
Alex Grossman, Vice President Media and Entertainment at Quantum, said IPV's Curator Media Asset Management is a great fit with StorNext 5 and highlights the openness of our platform. The combination of IPV Curator and StorNext 5 brings to our customers a highly scalable and flexible storage infrastructure for content owners with high-performance workflow requirements.
