March 30, 2017, Beijing, China - In 2016, a total of 559.7 million mobile phones were shipped in China, up 8 percent from the previous year, according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). With 54 percent of Chinese consumers planning to buy a smartphone this year, mobile network operators and resellers are looking to improve the operational capabilities and efficiencies of mobile trade-in and buyback programs, while also ensuring that data is permanently erased before used devices are resold.
