In Detail:

New *Digital Traffic: Garmin offers free lifetime digital traffic on selected n vi models without any fees or subscriptions, helping drivers to avoid delays. The Advanced and Premium Series now make it even easier to assess the traffic situation and decide on whether an alternative route makes sense or not. Voice integration alerts drivers to traffic congestion up ahead throughout their journey the expected delay and recommend a faster alternative route to their destination. N vi devices in the Advanced and Premium Series that include voice command, allow drivers to select an alternative route by simply speaking a response. Garmin's new traffic interface also depicts important traffic information next to the map view, including the expected delay as well as an animated graphic that identifies the location and severity of the traffic congestion along their route in real-time.

Through INRIX and the use of Digital Radio (DAB) technology, Garmin's most advanced traffic service offers two main advantages in comparison to TMC (Traffic Message Channel) or the GSM network:

Traffic information is updated every minute, up to twice as fast in comparison to current services providing drivers with earlier warning to traffic incidents helping them navigate around frustrating delays.

Secondly, the service allows for larger data volumes (about 80x higher bandwidth than TMC) to be delivered providing drivers with more detailed information about incidents and their impacts on delays, improves accuracy and provides coverage for a broader geographic area, for example, the service reports the exact location of the incident, where the delay starts and ends, rather than stating an entire road segment is blocked like other services. As a result, drivers are ensured of the best alternative route around the jam.

All the information, which finds its way to the Garmin sat nav appears in an easy and clear way, both visually and audibly. Through sophisticated analysis of billions of real-time data points from a unique combination of sources including road sensor information, accident and incident information, weather, events and its own crowd-sourced network of real-time data from millions of vehicles and devices, INRIX provides Garmin with traffic information accurate within 2 mph of actual traffic speeds under all conditions. Garmin customers will benefit from a service that provides them with the best routes, highly accurate journey times and the insight they need to avoid frustrating delays along the way.

Garmin Real Directions : Real Directions guide drivers in a natural and intuitive way. The new feature uses recognisable landmarks, buildings, traffic lights and junctions to give directions. For example, the new feature tel
