Madrid, June 20th, 2007 Madrid, 11 June 2007.- Abertis Telecom, the telecommunications infrastructures operator of the Abertis Group, is sponsoring the TETRA World Congress 2007. This event, which is taking place at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid from 12 to 14 June, brings together the leading international experts in TETRA technology and applications (network operators, equipment manufacturers and users). These professionals will discuss the present and future of this type of network, specifically designed to offer a high degree of security and the main clients of which are the security and emergency services.
As a member of the TETRA MOU Association, Abertis Telecom aims to use its participation in this event to present its experience in the design, implementation and management of security and emergency networks with TETRA technology, which it has been offering in a sector in which it plays an important role in Spain.
As part of the TETRA World Congress 2007, specialised seminars will be offered by professionals from the most important companies operating and using networks with TETRA technology. Mirko Masi, Head of Abertis Telecoms Mobile Communications Unit, is to take part in a seminar entitled TETRA Network Clinic on 14 June, in which he will talk about the experience of the company as an operator of security and emergency networks and, in particular, the most critical aspects to be taken into account.
Abertis Telecom at the Tetra World Congress 2007
Within the context of the TETRA World Congress, Abertis Telecom will carry out a series of demonstrations of its capacity in the design and management of TETRA digital trunking networks. On this occasion the centre of attention of this event is called OTR3S.
OTR3S is a product developed and created by Abertis Telecom in order to provide a reliable solution for the mobile transmission of information to terminals installed in vehicles, and to guarantee, through the use of networks with alternative technologies (TETRA and GPRS), the sending of messages (SMS and status) and data generated by the installed applications.
OTRS3 allows the following:
Remote use of a TETRA terminal, by means of Wi-Fi communication between the terminal and an external peripheral element, minimising the risk of a fault, and simplifying the use of the terminal.
Enabling and guaranteeing the transmission of the data with two alternative technologies in a way which is transparent for the user.
Utilising all the options that TETRA technology offers, making it easier for the user to use it and minimising the learning process.
Guaranteeing the confidentiality of the data from the external peripheral to the destination server.
The development of an in-house range of specific products, aimed at optimising the transmission of data on TETRA, has established Abertis Telecom as a provider of added value services, enabling the company to offer complete solutions which are differentiated and adapted to the needs of each client.
