Arrow Electronics Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with NEC and NTP Software for E-Tiering Cloud Appliance

CENTENNIAL, Colo.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced an exclusive North American and EMEA distribution agreement with NEC Europe and NTP Software for the E-Tiering Cloud Appliance (ETCA), a cost-effective, single-appliance-solution for tiering and storing inactive file data.

We are excited to collaborate with NEC Europe and NTP Software on this exclusive agreement, said Troy Fortune, vice president of sales for Arrow. The ETCA is a great integrated solution for resellers looking to add value to their customers' data challenges.

NEC's ETCA is built on NetApp's E-Series storage system and based on NTP Software's VFM technology. It automatically handles file movement, compliance and other policy-based activities. The ETCA can be the first stop on the road to the cloud or a complete solution in and of itself. NEC reports that the addition of a tier-two appliance like the ETCA can save an organization 66 percent or more of ongoing file data costs because stale files have different and less costly imperatives than active files.
