(Dubai - mbc.net) In a groundbreaking cross-media initiative of its kind, MBC Group and its various platforms participate in a Global initiative to combat poverty, joining forces with the world's top 70 broadcasters.
WHY POVERTY? aims at raising awareness about the state of poverty across the world, and highlighting various humanitarian associations, organizations, initiatives, and individual campaigns which are collectively aimed at fighting poverty around the world. Through 7 one-hour documentaries, the initiative also sheds light on the numerous means available to combat poverty, most notably promoting education as an effective weapon in doing so.
It is worth noting that WHY POVERTY is organized by Steps International, an affiliation of broadcasters that jointly commission and produce documentary series. For this 7 hour documentary series, the roster of international broadcasters include: ABC (Australia), BBC (UK), DR (Denmark), ERT (Greece), NHK (Japan), NRK (Norway), RAI (Italy) and PBS (US), among others.
