HBS partners with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union
29/05/2016
Following a long and successful partnership in the field of training, HBS is delighted to announce its broadened partnership with the world's biggest broadcasting union, the ABU, for the benefit of its 63 members in 33 territories.
HBS and ABU will extend their partnership in the fields of Production and Host Broadcasting for a broad and mutually beneficial long-term cooperation.
Pictured above, from left to right: Jiang Heping (Chairperson of the ABU Sports Group), Lise Cosimi-Br ant (HBS Director of CEO office and Director of HBS Broadcast Academy), Dr Javad Mottaghi (ABU General Secretary) and Cai Yanjiang (ABU Sports Director).
Dr Javad Mottaghi, ABU General Secretary: Following discussions held after the Incheon Asian Games and at the ABU General Conference Assembly in Macau in 2014, ABU has decided to launch new initiatives around Production, Host Broadcasting and Training for the benefit of the members and the Union in the long run. This initiative will focus on sharing expertise and training people from developing countries on the job. It is expected to help enhance HB services and capacities within members and the sustainability of ABU sports. We are happy to engage with HBS to offer more to our members .
Cai Yanjiang, ABU Sports Director: Training is a topic of major importance for our members as they are looking for operational training to be able to enhance their coverage from multilateral to unilateral. After two successful Football College training programmes aimed at football live coverage, we now want to offer together a wider range of training modules matching our member's needs .
Francis Tellier, CEO of HBS: HBS is proud to extend its partnership with ABU from Training to Production and Host Broadcasting of events in Asia. HBS has already a well proven experience in delivering major events in the Asian region starting with the successful delivery of the Asian Games in Doha until the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore as Production Partner to Mediacorp. We thank ABU for their continued support and trust .
Lise Cosimi-Br ant, HBS Director of CEO office and Director of HBS Broadcast Academy: Sports live production is obviously a key training programme for the members but there is also a high demand on modules like sports marketing, media training, commentary, lighting, sound, digital coverage and host broadcasting best practices. HBS Broadcast Academy will prepare with the ABU turnkey programmes to best serve the member's needs .
About ABU:
ABU is a non-government and not-for-profit organisation which has a presence in more than 75 countries and having as its members, public service broadcasters and other broadcasting organisations and entities reaching potentially 3 billion people.
