Luyanda Shezi, who plays the character of Lungile Jele in Mzansi Magic's Diep City, has opened up in an interview with Daily Sun about how she narrowly escaped becoming a sex slave .

In the interview that was published on Tuesday 13 September, Shezi claims she was still a student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Howard College in 2017 when she was asked to be a sex slave by someone she considered a close friend.

LUYANDA SHEZI: SEX SLAVE SHOCK OFFER According to Daily Sun, Shezi formed a close friendship with a man she met when she and her friends went out. After striking up a friendship, the actress says the man did not beat around the bush and reportedly told her that he wants her to be his sex slave.

During our chats, he made his intentions clear that he wants to turn me into his sex slave. He said he wants to sleep with me on a weekly basis and he'd pay R5000 each time. I was angry and offended by this. I turned him down, but he wouldn't stop.

Diep City actress Luyanda Shezi He kept insisting and begging me to sleep with him, but I kept pushing him away. Eventually, I blocked him and made sure to stay away from him, Shezi told the publication.

DIEP CITY' STORYLINE MIRRORS ACTRESS'S LIFE Now, in Diep City, Lungile is getting exposed to that very life that the actress was reportedly exposed to. Lungile thinks she is doing her job when she has actually been sold to a much older man for sexual activities.

Speaking to Daily Sun about this storyline in Diep City, Luyanda said:

Nomakorinte has already sold her for sex to Mr X. Unfortunately she is not aware of it. All she sees is Mr X's generosity if only she knew.

Many of these good-looking men are perpetrators of gender-based violence. I was lucky to escape, but I know young women who are still trapped in that kind of life, Shezi told Daily Sun.
