The River viewers predict actress Slindile Nodangala will play the villainous character of Lindiwe's sister Nolwazi.

NOLWAZI IN THE RIVER' The talented actress Slindile Nodangala, who recently exited e.tv's soapie Scandal! as Nomvula Kubeka is predicted to play Lindiwe Dikana's sister Nolwazi in 1Magic's telenovela The River.

The channel teased a picture of the character lying in hospital on their social media, while the TVSA October teasers indicate that Lindiwe will interact with her from the beginning of October.

The Wednesday 5 October teaser reads:

Lindiwe is determined to do right by her sister no matter what.

The teasers also reveal that Nolwazi is just as ruthless as Lindiwe and that the sisters will buttheads throughout October.

Lindiwe finally meets the real Nolwazi.

Tuesday 18 October:

Nolwazi bursts Lindiwe's little bubble.

Monday 24 October:

Lindiwe has to put on an Oscar-winning performance for her sister.

SLINDILE NODANGALA EXITS SCANDAL!' The former Generations and Rythm City thespian recently exited e.tv's most-watched soapie Scandal! as Nomvula Kubeka.

Her character Nomvula was the matriarch of a powerful family, who was married to Vukile (played by Fana Mokoena).

She told Drum Magazine in 2021 that Nomvula is a fixer in the family and uses her cunning demeanour to manipulate any situation.

I love the fact that she lives in a mansion, she owns a successful business, and drives my dream car, Slindile says.

With every new role, you're faced with a million choices on how you want to portray the character, it becomes a daunting task, to be honest.

You have to trust your choices and to get to that point where you finally give yourself the go ahead, and say stick with this choice because it will give the role all it needs to be relatable and believable. However, with a new character, you rely on the character brief until you understand the assignment as they say.

It's my duty as an actress to make sure I understand the brief and discover the unspoken word, she says.

It's a whole new role, a whole new being that you are stepping into, a whole new energy, new mannerisms, new ways of thinking, you have to find her mojo, making her language your own, understanding her beliefs and values so it doesn't matter how experienced you are, it's still not easy to step into a new role.
