Second Citizen Cultural and Art Festival Opened

In the evening of September 1, the second Citizen Cultural and Art Festival in Ningbo held its opening ceremony in Ningbo Cultural Plaza.

In the evening of September 1 in Ningbo Cultural Plaza, the opening ceremony attracted numerous people. Since the tickets were given out in advance, people who hadn't got the tickets thought out every means to watch the show, some standing on the bridge, some facing the crowd listening, and some even watching the reflection on the wall a building.

Nearly 600 actors took part in the performance. The ceremony mainly presented Ningbo as a historical city, an international port city and a city with love. Apart from the traditional songs, dances and operas, the opening ceremony also showed concern for autistic children, the Anti-Japanese War veterans, Chinese historical and cultural villages and ecological protection of marine fishery culture.

In addition, the second Citizen Cultural and Art Festival will pay more attention to cultural consumption, trying to combine cultural benefits with cultural consumption and cultural industry. With the opening ceremony, a six-day cultural nigh fair will be launched during the festival. Over 200 cultural enterprises, 20 art training organizations and 40 animation game companies will set booths and promote their products in Ningbo Cultural Plaza. In the fair, there are all kind of products, like food, clothes, books and DVDs. To attract Ningbo citizens, some cultural enterprises even set interactive games and experience products.

Apart from the fixed booths, the cultural nigh fair will carry out several Happy Everyday Shows in the following days, providing presentation stage for talented people of all ages. Apart from the Future Star show in the evening of September 1, there is a square dance competition in the evening of September 3, a cheongsam show and neighborhood art show in the evening of September 6, and a cultural talent show in the evening of September 7.

Incomplete statistics show that over 30,000 Ningbo citizens attended the cultural night fair in the evening of September 1. As the largest and most influential comprehensive cultural and art festival in Ningbo, the second Citizen Cultural and Art Festival will last to November 30, a month longer than the first Citizen Cultural and Art Festival.

It is learned that there are altogether over 190 activities during the second Citizen Cultural and Art Festival. These activities will be held from two aspects, the municipal level and the county level. From the municipal level, there are 70 activities, including the opening ceremony, the cultural night fair, four series of activities concerning singing and dancing, photographing, books and operas, and the closing ceremony. The organizing committee hopes to create a cultural feast through series of grounded and modern cultural activities to meet people's diversified cultural needs.
