Hungarian multi-service operator TARR has chosen to deploy systems from Appear TV to increase channel capacity and power its new linear multiscreen services.
The upgrade to its offering saw TARR use Appear TV's UniversalPicture Perfect Transcoding Hardware integrated into the XC5000 Video Processing Platform to deploy 24 new channels for multiscreen delivery. In addition new DVB-S/S2 satellite demodulators were added at its downlink site along with new Appear TV transcoding solutions to add additional broadcast channels to the TARR TV line-up. The installation was managed and integrated with existing TARR infrastructure by HFC Technics, an Appear TV business partner and broadcast systems integrator in Hungary.
The launch of the new TARR Kft. multiscreen service and system upgrade enables us to continue to provide our consumers with access to our content on any device via innovative technology. We've been highly impressed with the performance and reliability of the Appear TV equipment we deployed for our SD and HD TV broadcast services two years ago, which made it easy to make the decision to choose Appear TV OTT/multiscreen solutions for our latest major service upgrade, said J nos Tarr, CEO, TARR Kft.

A key feature of the platform is its ability to accommodate customers' preferred system architectures while reducing complexity.
