SABC scores 65 SAFTA nominations --

The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) announced its 10th annual Awards nominations with the SABC TV Network scoring 65 of this year s nominations.
SABC2 will be the official broadcaster of the 2016 SAFTAs live from Gallagher Estate on Sunday, 20 March 2016.
Some of the SABC TV Network s most notable nominations are SABC1 s Uzalo. In its first year and first season of broadcast, Uzalo earned a nomination for Lead Actor in a TV Drama.
SABC2 s longest running game show, Noot vir Noot snatched two nominations in the Best Game Show and Best TV Presenter Non-Fiction categories.
SABC3 s new foodie show, Girl Eat World makes its debut in the Magazine List Show category running with its fellow channel magazine programme, Top Billing. For the first time, SABC3 s Isidingo sees two actors from the soapie vying for the Lead Actressin a TV Soap award, actresses Leanda Reddy (Priya) and Tema Sebopedi (Lerato).
In the Best International Format Programme category, the SABC s reality series X Factor SA and Strictly Come Dancing, both produced by Rapid Blue, compete for the same Golden Horn.
The SABC also received a number of awards in the production and behind-the- scenes categories.
SABC2 will broadcast the award ceremony live from Gallagher Estate from 20h00 on Sunday, 20 March 2016.
