PHABRIX adds audio toolsets to its Rx rack mount range with V8 at BVE London PHABRIX will be at BVE London this year demonstrating the recently released V8 software for its increasingly successful PHABRIX Rx rack mount range.

Closed caption display is a prominent feature set with the ability to view 608/708 subtitles OP47 and WST on four separate inputs. Very few devices can decode OP47 and this analysis feature alone has been positively received by the broadcast industry in general.

The key features of this release include additional audio analysis instruments combined with the sophisticated video test and measurement inherent in this innovative product range.

Support for loudness logging has also been enhanced to provide 4 channels of loudness metering and monitoring. The log can be exported via a CSV file for off line analysis.

Lissajous analysis for each stereo pair under test can also be displayed alongside a selectable audio meter.

Dolby features highly in the toolsets available. With support for Dolby E, Dolby D and Dolby D plus, the Rx range now supports full Dolby decode with the provision of a new audio module.

A new AES module is also available for the Rx providing both input and output AES support. The 4 x AES digital audio pairs use 75ohm BNC connectors that accept AES sample rates from 32kHz to 192kHz with 20 or 24 bit depth. The module sample rate converts these inputs to provide 48kHz AES audio for use by any installed module within the Rx chassis.

The AES audio can be accessed by any of the audio instruments of the HDMI monitor output, the AES channels can be mapped to specific stereo pairs, 5.1 and 7.1 groups for measurement and monitoring using audio meters and loudness logging.
