Halloween celebrations in South Africa is all about dressing up and Amanda Du-Pont has nailed it with her sexy Mexican-inspired outfit. The actress, who is best known for her portrayal of the villainous Lelo Mthinyane on SABC1's popular soapie Skeem Saam, shared some photos of her Halloween costume on Instagram to her estimated five million followers last week.

Captioning the pictures, she wrote: Spooky Szn Halloween we ready.

Amanda channels Mexico's Day of the Dead with Halloween look According to History.com, the Day of the Dead (el D a de los Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. It is traditionally celebrated on 2 November while Halloween is observed on 31 October.

Halloween is widely associated with costume parties and events where people dress up as their favourite horror or scary character and then there is the trick-or-treat tradition which American children partake in with great gusto!

Amanda has channeled the Day of the Dead for her Halloween costume and look.

Image via Instagram @amandadupont Judith Bautista, aka Kahlovera, a Mexican American artist who specialises in the Day of the Dead, explained to Cosmopolitan that La Catrina is technically the correct term to use when referring to the skull makeup look for D a de Muertos which also features flowers and other embellishments.

Life after Skeem Saam' for Amanda Du-Pont Fans have been wondering what the actress has been up to since she has disappeared off the small screen. But life has been good for the former actress who boasts a total net worth of R36 million, according to Savanna News.

With the riches she has amassed throughout her acting career, Amanda can indulge in her love for exotic cars and lives in a R4 million estate in a leafy suburb of Johannesburg with her husband, Shauwn Rodriques.

The former Skeem Saam actress has formed a partnership with Fashion Nova, an American online fashion store for women. She has also launched her own skin care company Lelive Africa in 2020 and runs it as CEO.
