The first full moon announces January, 2024 in just a couple more weeks - and the lunar event is going to be something spectacular as the first official start to the new year.

After December's Cold Moon, the next moon is going to be the first for 2024, and it's nicknamed the Wolf Moon.

First full moon announces January, 2024 According to Moon Giant, the first full moon of the new year is happening on 6 January, 2024.
The announcement makes it the first moon, which kicks off a whole new year of lunar cycles that we'll cover throughout the rest of the year.

Lunar cycles are important, because they're how we all keep track of the calendar - and yes, the lunar cycles can affect insomnia.

The January full moon: Wolf Moon According to the website Time and Date, the January full moon is nicknamed the Wolf Moon.

December's lunar event was called the Cold Moon due to the seasonal association, but the name of the Wolf Moon is reserved for the time when wolves are at their most active in colder parts of the world.
