MIPFormats call for 2014 entries --

Creators and producers are invited to present original entertainment ideas to the MIPFormats International Pitch competition, taking place in Cannes on 5 and 6 April 2014. Applicants have until Monday 3 February 2014 to submit a completed entry form along with their new and unique concepts.
Finalists are announced in early March and the winner receives 25,000 (approximately R340,000) in development funding.
Selection is based on how creative, original, innovative and well-structured the non-scripted formats in entertainment, factual entertainment and game show genres are. Other factors to be considered are how much potential the content has to be developed into multiple series and if it is able to be exported to countries, small and large.
Reed MIDEM, organiser of MIPTV and MIPFormats, and Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) sponsors the event, preceding the annual MIPTV content market from 7 to 10 April 2014.

Hatch Entertainment of Australia won the competition last year with the musical format Big Again, in which previous musical stars select up-and-coming talent to reinterpret their songs.
