ONSIGHT shows insight by setting its sights on Mistika expanding furer to deliver high-end DI and Stereo D productions to meet increasing film and broadcast demand
01/09/2013
Simon Craddock, CEO of ONSIGHT
London, 24 September 2013 - ONSIGHT, one of the UK's major production facilities company and stereoscopic 3D specialists, expands further with substantial upgrades from SGO at its London-based full service post production facility. The company has added to its DI colour grading and Stereo 3D resources through the additional upgrade of its existing Mistika suites from SGO. ONSIGHT has offered its clients a suite of SGO products for some time, which include four Mistika systems operating on shared storage, the Mistika on-set production tool and an SGO SAN, powered-up by HPZ820 platforms for reinforced efficiency. The new and upgraded systems will include the latest Mistika 7.2 software with an exciting extension of Stereo 3D tools that streamline many routine tasks, along with transforming features that guarantee to deliver a significant increase in performance and boost productivity to meet client needs.

ONSIGHT has recently experienced a sharp increase in demand for both 2D and Stereo 3D post services and it relies on Mistika technology for their workflow to achieve superior image quality. The move to upgrade its SGO technology is to significantly increase infrastructure and storage capacity to meet customer requirements. Along with its industry-leading grading toolkit, Mistika also offers ONSIGHT the ability to work natively with all digital camera formats and gives them an improved ability to integrate with other post production stages, notably editorial and visual effects. Reputed for utilising innovative technology such as Mistika, ONSIGHT's ongoing success in attracting DI and Stereo 3D projects has vastly increased. The Mistika systems already serve as the facility's primary post suites, helping to meet the company's rapidly growing demand that includes high-end documentary films, television programming and commercials in 2D, Stereo 3D and Giant Screen high frame rate formats.
Simon Craddock, CEO of ONSIGHT confirms, Like ONSIGHT, SGO is committed to innovation and we value our partnership. We have been users of Mistika for a long time. It continues to help us meet increasing and complex requirements in DI and Stereo 3D productions with impressive and importantly, real-time results. It is no wonder that it has now become a well recognised product. Updating our Mistika facilities was vital for the benefit of our creative and technical teams, in order to keep delivering high quality and time sensitive material.
Geoff Mills, Director of SGO's Global Sales & Operations, concludes Mistika already plays an integral role in the entire DI and Stereo 3D production pipeline at ONSIGHT. In implementing such innovative workflows, ONSIGHT benefits from dedicated support from SGO confirming our close partnership for the long-term. Opting for a substantial upgrade on this level was a logical progression to fortify ONSIGHT's existing collaborative workflows as more exciting projects continue to flow in, and we are very proud to support them and play a role in their continued success.
With an understanding of the entire production process, ONSIGHT provides a unique service to filmmakers and programme-makers from cameras through to post. It is imperative that their projects are managed as efficiently as possible and Mistika plays a vital role in the post production process. ONSIGHT offers exceptional digital TV, film, Giant Screen and stereoscopic post production facilities using the latest in cutting edge technologies to create smooth workflows whilst enhancing the creative process. From colour management of digital rushes to a full DI and film mastering service ONSIGHT's impressive team has unrivalled experience of working in a digital production environment.
The facility has relied on SGO's Mistika system for its grading, conforming, Stereo 3D work and visual effects for numerous years and won the IBC 2011 Innovation Award with SGO as its leading technology partner with customers Atlantic Productions and Sky 3D TV for the most outstanding Stereo 3D post production for BAFTA award-winning Flying Monsters with David Attenborough. ONSIGHT's recent credits include Little Crackers for BSkyB which has just recently won the 4th annual 3D Creative Arts International Jury Prize through the International 3D Society, BAFTA nominated Mr Stink (The BBC's first scripted Stereo 3D drama), Kingdom of Plants 3D for Sky 3D TV a winner of the 2012 International 3D Society Lumiere Award-Europe, the new and critically acclaimed Micro Monsters 3D with David Attenborough, and many others.
Mistika is the most fully featured and advanced complete post production system available today. It delivers consistent functionality and operational performance up to 8K and supports all industry standard digital film camera formats and is ACES compliant.
