It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. What a profound truth! A realization that eases the grip of life on man surrendering to God in all things. Partake in this feast as we consume food for the soul, nourishing the spirit in Breaking Bread. It is Monday, 24th October 2022.

Talking to God about our calling The calling of God is not to serve Him in one or another significant way. Our personal contact with Him forms our understanding of His calling. It will assist us to understand what we really desire to do for Him.

God brings us in the right relationship with Him to understand our calling. We will then serve Him on our own because we are motivated through sincere love for Him. When we hear the calling of God, His holy voice echoes through His culture and ours and become one in service.

Our primary calling is not to be holy people but to preach and spread the gospel, the good news of God. The important part is that the gospel should be seen as a lasting reality that is within us. This reality is not human goodness, holiness, heaven or hell. No, it is salvation. It is important for us to see and identify the need for salvation. To be holy is the result of salvation and not the cause of salvation. When we put our faith and trust in human goodness, we will never be able to stand when the test winds start to blow.

We must also be careful not to refuse to listen to the calling of God. He calls us to be witnesses of His Salvation. Let us hear His calling and respond to it in a way that will change our lives forever.

PRAYER Dear God, we thank You for all Your blessings. Thank You Lord for calling us although we are very sinful. We pray for Your mercy and grace upon us. Bless us. In Jesus name. Amen.

Paulus se dat hy homself nie afgesonder het nie: Maar God het my voor my geboorte vir Hom afgesonder ''( Galasiers 1:15). Indien ons oee gevestig is op ons eie persoonlike heiligheid, sal ons nie naby die werklikheid van verlossing kan kom nie.

Ons misluk wanneer ons ons eie persoonlike heiligheid voor ons begeerte om God te ken, plaas. God sal ons tog nooit kan verlos indien ons belangstelling ons eie karakter is nie.

In Korinthiers 1:17 verklaar Paulus dat dit die roeping van God is dat hy die evangelie moet verkondig. Met die evangelie bedoel Paulus die werklikheid van verlossing in onse Here Jesus Christus. Ons is dus nie geroep om heiligmaking of verlossing te verkondig ne, maar ons opdrag is om Jesus Christus te verhoog. Paulus het hartseer, verdrukking en ontnugteringe in sy lewe ervaar maar hierdie dinge het hy verwelkom omdat dit hom net sterker gemaak het.

So ervaar ons ook daaglikse teleurstellings, hartseer en verdrukkings in ons lewe. Ons moet gedurende hierdie episodes in ons lewe God eerste plaas en onwrikbaar bly in ons toewyding aan Sy evangelie.

Wanneer ons daardie roepstem gehoor het,word daar n lyding bewerk wat die naam van Christus waardig is. Dan word elkeen van ons ambisies,begeertes en sienings uitgewis en vernietig en ons wil ons net afsonder vir die evangelie.

GEBED Dankie Heilige Vader dat U ons nog roep ongeag ons sondige lewe en natuur. Here ons bid dat U ons nooit moet verlaat nie maar by ons sal bly tot in alle ewigheid. Amen.
