After the death of Robbie Malinga in 2017, Kelly Khumalo had to find a producer that would understand her and the music she makes. Mondli Ngcobo fit in and they have been creating magic ever since.

We are establishing quite a very beautiful sound here After losing Robbie it was quite a big gap that I've had to fill up and to make sure that I don't lose myself having to find someone new when you've gotten used to one person is quiet hard and I was blessed enough to actually find Mondli, Kelly explained to Daily Sun.

SINGLE A PRELUDE TO UPCOMING ALBUM The mother of two spoke to Daily Sun and confirmed that her single Bazokhuluma is a prelude to her upcoming album.

Singer-songwriter Kelly says her album is complete and will be released in the first quarter of 2023. This album follows her successful 2020 album, Voice of Africa.

She says when Mondli and her go to the studio to record, they normally brainstorm ideas in terms of who they want the album to target, the message they want to get across with the album.

The actress says that Bazokhuluma tells the story of how people will always talk whether you do or good or bad. She says people can relate to Bazokhuluma.

The song features Mthunzi and Zakwe because Mondli suggested them even though she was not familiar with them before.

I had to go home and do my own research and inform myself more about uMthunzi and I was really fascinated and to my surprise, the next day we were in studio so that's how the collaboration came about, Kelly says.

THE PEOPLE ON THE ALBUM Kelly says they are still preparing the visuals of the album, If the album was not so big with a lot of work behind it, it would've come out the production is done, the mastering is done. However, the music is not just audio, it's also visual. So, we are still in preparation of the visuals. So yes the album is coming out essentially she said.

When she was asked who else she worked with on the album, she said, one person I've been fascinated about for years, not only by his music but his spirituality and sense of Africanism, is Mbuso Khoza. I'm very fascinated by him and blessed that he's part of the album .
