ProSiebenSat.1 extends contract with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution
Munich, February 2, 2015. ProSiebenSat.1 announced today that it had extended its existing content licensing agreement with leading Hollywood studio, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.
The long term agreement secures ProSiebenSat.1 exclusive free TV rights to numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as well as US series including the eagerly anticipated new comedy drama Backstrom and new hit drama Empire, in European German-speaking countries. For the first time animated films by DreamWorks are included in the contract. The rights package also covers exclusive basic pay TV licenses.
Other highlights of the agreement are Rio 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 2. These two animation movies were among the most successful films in Germany in 2014. Also the planned sequel to James Camerons Avatar will air on ProSiebenSat.1 stations.
