Overon Aerial, the MEDIAPRO Groups audiovisual drone services division was responsible for developing and executing the audiovisual drone coverage of El Cl sico last Saturday. LaLigas FC Barcelona - Real Madrid became the first game of its kind in history in which spectators were able to enjoy spectacular live drone footage from Camp Nou. Overon Aerial aircraft served footage to the official match broadcast. Thanks to the footage shot, spectators were able to see live images of the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona that included the pre-match preview, panoramic views of the stands, the arrival of the teams, the players' departure to the dressing rooms, the start of the match and the end and, also, shots of the entire city.

Overon Aerial professionals spent the last month ensuring the acquisition of all the required legal permits (AESA, Interior Ministry, etc.) in order to provide the never before seen footage of El Cl sico, a high-risk match whose operations boasted the collaboration of the Technical Unit of Mossos dEsquadra Air Security, as well as the Camp Nou Security department. At all times, minute-by-minute coordination was required since the drones flight coincided with that of two helicopters hovering above the pitch, and even had to deal with everyday situations such as the detection of hostile aircraft.

Overon Aerial (Grupo MEDIAPRO) secured authorization from the Spanish Aviation Security Agency (AESA, as per the acronym in Spanish) to fly drones in the three scenarios as established by AESA for the performance of operations involving agglomerations of buildings, for night flights and in controlled airspace, the first major audiovisual production company in the country to have acquired said authorization. Created in 2018, the company currently owns state of the art equipment including 8 aircraft located at different points around the Iberian peninsula, which allow live coverage or image recording in up to 6K format. As a pioneer in a booming sector, the firm currently employs 37 pilots who have delivered dozens of productions including coverage of LaLiga Santander matches, the Platinum Awards in Mexico, the European Triathlon Championship in Malta, the Spanish Rally Championship and the World Snowboarding Championship.
