The nominees for the inaugural Basadi in Music Awards were announced on Wednesday 6 July in Johannesburg with Kaya 959 radio presenter, Dineo Ranaka, as the host. Amapiano stars DBN Gogo and Pabi Cooper lead the pack of nominees along with Phakade Lam hitmaker, Nomfundo Moh. The three talents all scored three nominations each.

INAUGURAL BASADI IN MUSIC AWARDS The Basadi in Music Awards were launched in March this year at a star-studded event with some of Mzansi's brightest stars. Founded by Hloni Modise, the awards will honour women who have excelled in the entertainment industry.
For the inaugural awards show, set to take place on 9 August, there are several categories including Song of the Year, Dance Artist of the Year, Social Media Influencer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.

The Basadi in Music Awards has also introduced a Mosadi in Business Achievement Award, where DJ Zinhle, Dineo Ranaka and Lerato Kganyago will be honoured with awards.
