The Festival of M laga and of Mar del Plata narrow ties El certamen malague o presenta en Mar del Plata el MAFF (M laga Festival Fund & Coproduction Event), un nuevo foro enmarcado en su nueva rea de industria en el que profesionales del cine latinoamericanos y europeos se encontrar n, en el marco del 21 Festival de M laga (13 al 22 de abril de 2018), para tejer nuevas redes de trabajo y generar negocios de coproducci n en el mercado internacional.
The Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata, nico de clase A en Latinoam rica, ha celebrado su 32 edici n del 17 al 26 de noviembre, ocasi n que ha servido para afianzar los nexos de uni n con el Festival de M laga. El certamen malague o, representado por su director, Juan Antonio Vigar, ha presentado en este festival hermano el MAFF - M laga Festival Fund & Coproduction Event, un nuevo foro enmarcado en su nueva rea de industria en el que profesionales del cine latinoamericanos y europeos se encontrar n, en el marco del 21 Festival de M laga (13 al 22 de abril de 2018), para tejer nuevas redes de trabajo y generar negocios de coproducci n en el mercado internacional.
La uni n entre el INCAA y el festival malague o se ha materializado en la firma de un convenio de colaboraci n que servir para la difusi n del cine argentino en Espa a y Europa a trav s de M laga. El Festival de Mar del Plata cuenta con una importante rea de industria, denominada Film.Ar, creada por el Instituto Internacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales de Argentina (INCAA) para el fomento de la industria audiovisual argentina. El Festival de M laga ha firmado un acuerdo con el INCAA, de dos a os de duraci n, que permitir que dos proyectos finalistas de su Mardoc.Lab (laboratorio dedicado al documental argentino) se integren en el MAFF malague o. Estos proyectos son: Adentro m o estoy bailando, dirigida por Leandro Koch y producida por Andrew Sala, y Los espejos de la naturaleza, dirigida por Gabriel Zaragoza y producida por Maximiliano Schonfeld. La participaci n de estos proyectos en M laga fue anunciada por el director del Festival en la ceremonia de entrega de premios de Film.Ar.
Por otra parte, y tambi n en el marco de Film.Ar, el director del Festival de M laga, Juan Antonio Vigar, ha firmado un acuerdo de colaboraci n con Alaa Karkouti, presidente del Arab Cinema Center (ACC), gracias al cual esta plataforma seleccionar dos proyectos de ficci n que se incluir n en el MAFF. El Arab Cinema Center mantiene acuerdos de colaboraci n con los festivales m s importantes del mundo, a los que ahora se suma el Festival de M laga en su esfuerzo de expansi n hacia el cine internacional.
Con estos dos acuerdos, el Festival de M laga avanza en su posicionamiento como referente en Espa a del cine latinoamericano. Esta posici n se ver reforzada con la celebraci n del 16 al 19 de abril de 2018 del MAFF - M laga Festival Fund & Coproduction Event, espacio que permitir a los productores latinoamericanos encontrarse y presentar sus proyectos a los responsables de los principales fondos internacionales y productores de Espa a y resto de Europa. Este evento nace de un esfuerzo colectivo promovido por el Ayuntamiento de M laga, organizado por el Festival de M laga y en alianza con CNC aide aux cin mas du monde, EAVE, Hubert Bals Fund, S rfond, World Cinema Fund, Doha Film Institut, FAPAE, ICAA , FIPCA y Film Market Hub.
Pensando en latinoam rica
La convocatoria del MAFF (abierta hasta el 15 de diciembre) est dirigida a proyectos latinoamericanos, que sean primera o segunda obra del director/realizador, en los g neros de largometraje de ficci n, documental y animaci n, que se encuentren en fase de desarrollo avanzado. Los proyectos deben tener una financiaci n asegurada de al menos el 20% y no se aceptar aquellos que est n en fase de rodaje o postproducci n. Los solicitantes deber n inscribirse a trav s del formulario online, que se encuentra disponible junto a las bases de la convocatoria en la web del festival y adjuntar los documentos que se indican en los respectivos formularios.
Un comit de selecci n formado por expertos del audiovisual, de reconocido prestigio tanto de Europa como de Iberoam rica, elegir 18 proyectos seleccionados de entre todos los presentados, dando prioridad a aqu llos que no se hayan presentado en otras convocatorias similares. La selecci n de proyectos tendr como fin principal impulsar el talento art stico y creativo de los directores participantes y se tendr en cuenta la capacidad y el potencial del proyecto para acceder al mercado internacional.
El MAFF forma parte de la nueva Zona de Industria del Festival de M laga, que engloba un conjunto de eventos dise ados para fortalecer las producciones cinematogr ficas iberoamericanas. El MAFIZ (M laga Festival Industry Zone) est constituido por seis eventos que promueven la financiaci n, coproducci n, distribuci n y venta del cine en espa ol. El apoyo e impulso al nuevo talento audiovisual latinoamericano es el objetivo transversal de esta amplia rea industrial, que cuenta con el patrocinio y apoyo de FIPCA (Federaci n Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematogr ficos y Audiovisuales).
Como n cleo central del MAFIZ se sit an los Spanish Screenings - M laga de Cine, evento coorganizado con FAPAE, que, con la colaboraci n de ICEX, ICAA, EGEDA y la Junta de Andaluc a, es una plataforma internacional de venta y promoci n del cine en espa ol.
El MAFIZ se completa con otros cuatro proyectos: Latinamerican Focus, un encuentro bilateral entre Espa a y un pa s latinoamericano con el objetivo de reforzar el networking y las coproducciones de las empresas productoras de ambos pa ses; M laga Docs, encuentro de an lisis y reflexi n en torno al documental, donde los profesionales m s importantes de este g nero se re nen para compartir su mirada sobre el cine documental latinoamericano; M laga Work in Pr
