The Idols SA top 3 was officially revealed on Sunday's episode (30 October) of Idols SA and Ty Loner was eliminated.

The fan-favourite performer topped the Twitter trends list every Sunday after his performances that were said to be not up to standard.

The musician noted all the criticism he was receiving but he says his family gave him the strength to push through.

TY LONER'S GIRLFRIEND SUBMITS TAPE The Eldorado native told Sowetan Live that his girlfriend Kelly secretly submitted a video of him singing and surprisingly, he received a call from the producers.

The producers told him he has made it into the audition part of the show and was part of the top 30.

Ty Loner says he is grateful to his girlfriend for taking that leap of faith for him and submitted the video on his behalf because, had it not been for her, I doubt I would've entered this season .

Yes, she may have done it without my knowledge but it was all out of love and the faith she has in me as a singer. I appreciate her love and support throughout my journey I really don't know how to repay something like this, Ty says.

TY THANKS FANS' SUPPORT The 21-year-old told the publication that he was grateful to those who believed in him enough to vote for him every week.

The greatest thing I took away from this journey is being given a platform to showcase my talent. This made me see the number of people who believed in me.

Ty Loner did not miss the chance to mention the support he received from his family, from being part of the live audience to voting for him.

The support I received from my family was so amazing, they came through every week to watch me sing live at the arena but what got me the most was seeing videos of people from my street watching me perform via the use of a projector they also backed that up by voting for me. Seeing everyone back me up like that was truly heart-warming, he said.

Ty Loner says he will miss the contestants he had the chance to bond with.
