New BTX Fiber Optics Lab and opticalCON Certification

With the opening of a new state-of-the-art fiber-optics lab at its headquarters in metro New York, BTX now offers a full line of fiber system solutions for high-definition audio and video applications for both the broadcast and A/V marketplace. In operation since January, the lab is staffed by a team of talented technicians and features automated termination and test equipment. These new fiber capabilities complement BTXs existing offering of copper assembly and custom plate and panel solutions. As a result of its new capabilities, BTX has already been designated by Neutrik the leading manufacturer of audio connectors and receptacles as a Certified Assembler Fiber House for its opticalCON line of fiber-optic connection systems. Neutriks opticalCON products are based on standard optical LC-Duplex connections and feature rugged-body, high-performance fiber contacts as well as a unique shutter design to protect against dust and dirt. BTXs fiber product portfolio also includes products from AFL, Atlona, Belden, Gefen, Kramer, OCC, RDL, TE Connectivity, and Telecast.

Just Add Power 2G+ HD-SDI Over IP Transmitter

The new Just Add Power 2G+ HD-SDI over IP transmitter now enables high-definition digital video broadcast over IP connections with a 1000% increase in specified network speed. Equipped with multichannel audio, the new release enables source audio and video to be distributed with complete integrity. As a result, installers can now replicate crystal-clear 1080p video quality that is indistinguishable from source content to satisfy even the highest installation standards. Compatible with the complete 2G/2G+ family of HD over IP products, the transmitter also features an HDMI pass-through port for feeding audio to central amplifiers; an integrated stereo audio extractor with programmable audio delay; a 3.5mm RS232 port with integrated null modem for easy integration with all RS232 controlled devices and accessories; support for locking HDMI cables; and an independent CEC over IP CPU with new Pico processor.

BTX Pro Plates and Panels: Software and Products

With the new BTX Pro Plates and Panel Software, users can easily design, configure, specify, and order custom wall plates and panels within a matter of minutes. Using drag-and-drop technology, users select wall plates, rack panels, and connector options from an extensive library of manufactures such as Neutrik and Switchcraft, in addition to BTXs long list of award-winning products. The softwares newest upgrade also includes access to floor box inserts and allows for optional engraving if desired. Upon completion of configuration and design, users can request quotes and place orders with the click of a button. Most orders are shipped between five to seven days.

BTX Pro Plates and Panels are also available as standard anodized aluminum wall plates and panels, laminated aluminum color wall plates, formed anodized aluminum plates, and anti-bowing flanged heavy-duty panels. With the option for complete customization to complement any setting, wall plates are available in white, black, red, green, blue, and yellow, and can accommodate up to six-gang configurations. The stylish plates also feature a unique two-layer laminate over the aluminum that can be engraved to give a clean contemporary look to any commercial environment.

To accommodate uneven surfaces, formed anodized aluminum wall plates are flush with the wall only at the edge of the bezel. Available in single- and double-gang configurations, the plates are thicker and more durable than other solutions on the market and feature an elegant clear or black-brushed finish for a more sophisticated design. BTXs rack panel offering includes heavy-duty, flanged, and anodized aluminum panels. Even when punched with the maximum number of cutouts, the new black, one-eighth inch thick, one-piece bent flanged panels have the extra strength needed to eliminate bowing when attaching or removing cables. The heavy-duty panels are available in sizes up to 10 RU.
