Film Commiion Chief Executive Officer

To provide overall strategic leadership and management for the Film Commission. Overall development of the Film Industry including encouraging and participating in the making, promotion, distribution, and exhibition of films. Attract film and video production in order to accrue locally-realized benefits from hiring local crews and talent.

Develop, maintain and implement a strategic plan, budget and Institutional framework

Attract local and international motion media production crews (including movies, TV and commercials) to shoot on location and offer support so that productions can

accomplish their work smoothly;

Ensure the effective gathering, analysis and dissemination of film & television material;

Ensure effective destination marketing and marketing of local crew, equipment & expertise;

Develop and implement transformation programs in line with provincial BEE scorecard programs;

Encourage the development and distribution of local productions, increasing audiences for film products particularly via film festivals, encouraging the study of film and the acquisition of film related skills, supporting a climate of entrepreneurship;

Champion the development of infrastructure including film, television amenities and services that support the development of the film industry

Ensure sound financial, administrative and legislative governance of the commission including record management;

Ensure the provision maintenance of effective office and infrastructure and administration services;

Ensure effective liaison with the MEC/HOD of SACR and the GFC Board; and

Make decisions on the provision financial assistance for audiovisual projects through loans, grant or equity financing.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration.

Master's in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or related Master's degree would be an added advantage.

At least 5 -8 years' experience in audio visual production, radio management or entertainment.

Have been a member of a board of directors.

Government statutory experience would be an added advantage.
