Seasoned actress Linda Sokhulu- has joined the residents of Hillside to play the role of Dr Tumi in 7de Laan.

Her character is an eloquent, confident, and assertive woman from a wealthy family, according to Drum Magazine.

-- LINDA SOKHULU'S LATEST ROLE The actress Linda Sokhulu tells the publication that her character is an ambitious, qualified medical doctor who's also studied to become a qualified lawyer.

Tumi is a hardworking, focused, and a go-getter.

She is passionate about her beliefs and chooses to experience her life's ambitions to the fullest.

Sokhulu adds that she sees a bit of herself in the character.

I'd say we're similar in going after dreams, in being hard workers.

But we're different in our style sensibilities, she's far more stylish than me.

Viewers of the Afrikaans soapie can expect an unpredictable personality from Tumi who's smart and can also have a playful, naughty side.

BACKGROUND OF TUMI Fans should also know that Tumi doesn't have the most romantic relationship track record.

Sokhulu says Tumi had exposed her ex-husband's dubious dealings when her strong moral ethics wouldn't allow her to look the other way.

Tumi hopes that her grandmother will shed light on some questions once she settles in Hillside and builds strong relationships.

HER MOST POPULAR TV ROLES The actress recently exited Mzansi Magic's faith-based series uMkhokha where she played MamZobe's sister and MaBusi's biological mother Zodwa.

She is also known for her Rhythm City role as a bisexual woman known as Ziyanda.

Besides the work I have been doing, I have also learned a new skill of writing, which has been exciting and challenging for Linda.

Every role comes with its uniqueness.

I can't say I have a favourite role, and they are all different; asking different elements of me and allowing me to grow as an actor.

They all have a special place in my heart and career, she says.
