TORONTO (June 14, 2013) Comedy is king on City with an impressive five 2013 Canadian Comedy Awards nominations. City original comedy series Seed accumulated five nominations overall, including Best TV Show, and three nods for Best Writing in a TV or Web Series. Fierce female lead Carrie-Lynn Neales's portrayal of the sweet and neurotic Rose delivered a nomination for Best Female Performance in a TV or Web Series. And ahead of her debut on City's buzz-worthy new fall series Super Fun Night,alongside fearless female comedian Rebel Wilson,Canadian comicLauren Ash earned a nomination for Canadian Comedy Person of the Year.

Previously nominated for an international 2013 Banff Rockie Award in the category of Best Sitcom, a second season of the critically acclaimed original comedy series Seed was announced at Rogers Media's 2013 Upfront presentation on June 4. Production on the 13 half-hour episodes will commence this summer in Halifax. Seed is an interprovincial co-production from Vancouver-based Force Four Productions and Nova Scotia's Waterstar Entertainment Inc.

On Tuesday, June 18, viewers can catch a sneak peek of the first episode at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The series officially premieres on the City schedule Mondays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT this fall, following hit comedy, How I Met Your Mother.
