Story Highlights
Despite the importance of at-home production, broadcasters often encounter difficulty getting their needs met when new sports venues are under construction. This year's Venue Production Workshop on Monday Dec. 11 will begin with a panel discussion that aims to uncover current challenges faced by teams, leagues, broadcast networks, venue consultants, and more. In addition to laying out what SVG can do to improve the situation, it will explore the latest in in-venue LED design/integration and control-room design.

Notre Dame recently opened the Rex and Alice A. Martin Media Center, an IP-centric production facility. The path from vision to reality was full of blind curves, requiring new thinking and conversations, new language and knowledge, and new designs and documentation. Hear about what it takes to go full throttle into the new world of IP from the key technology partner and the project engineer, who committed two years to bring this project to life.

2:45 - 3:30 p.m. The Latest in In-Venue LED Design and Integration
Often, the center-hung or end-zone video display is the first thing fans see when attending a game. As teams continue to push the limits of size and design, the backend challenges increase as well. Hear how manufacturers, systems integrators, and teams are working in tandem to concept, build, and program an ever widening range of in-venue displays - both traditional and non-traditional - and how they think in-venue video will evolve in the future. Will HDR ever be a factor?

3:30 - 4:00 p.m. Case Study: Inside the New York Giants' Multiplatform Season-Long 10-Year Anniversary Celebration of Super Bowl XLII
Throughout the 2017 schedule, the New York Football Giants are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their 2007-08 season and Super Bowl XLII Championship. The centerpiece was halftime of the Monday Night Football game on Sept. 18, when the entire team and coaching staff were honored in a special ceremony. The celebration continued across all Giants' media platforms, including content dedicated to the anniversary for every game; special features designed for social and digital media; dedicated television programming and features all season long; and radio, publications, and events planned all year. The planning started more than a year ago, with Giants camera crews traveling the country, interviewing, and collecting hundreds of hours of content that were shot and edited.
Confirmed Presenters:
Nilay Shah, New York Giants, Director, Digital Strategy
Don Sperling, New York Giants Entertainment, VP/Executive Producer
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. Control-Room Design Update
As the brain of the entire video-production system, video-control rooms must be well organized to function properly. Conversations on layout, lighting, power, cooling, acoustics, and much more are pivotal to a well-run video-control room. What should you consider when laying out a control room, designing the infrastructure, contemplating virtualized systems, and installing video-production technology? Leading systems integrators weigh in on their best practices and biggest lessons learned in the field.
