Great Food, Great Crowd, Benefit Duke Children's at MIX 101.5's 2019 Savor the Triangle

Over 600 guests sampled till they couldnt sample anymore at MIX 101.5s 3rd Annual Savor the Triangle on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Between the silent auction and a portion of proceeds from ticket sales, the event brought in over $2,500 to benefit Duke Childrens Hospital. The food fun took place at the Kerr Scott Building on the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Its just an awesome, diverse collection of local eateries that all offer something unique, said WRAL-FM Director of Sales Brian Grube. MIX listeners are busy people, so this event gives them a chance to go out and experience many of the Triangles best dishes all under the same roof! I love the friendly competition between the restaurants as they put their best foot forward to earn peoples votes, watching our guests reactions as they try something for the first time and the overall hum/buzz/vibe of the crowd as they enjoy a wide spectrum of amazing creations.

Tonbo Ramen won the 2019 Savor the Triangle Best Restaurant. Attendees voted on their favorite throughout the evening.

Of all three Savor the Triangles, 2019 wins! said WRAL-FMs Two Men and A Mom Co-Host Bryan Lord. My wife Kate and I are grazers. Put 20 of the Triangles best under one roof and we show off our heifer instincts. Tonbo Ramen won this year. How you make sesame ice cream taste like peanut butter showed me that they deserve all the awards.

The competition was fierce among the over two dozen vendors.

This years slate of restaurants was great- really represented the food Triangle food scene, so it was a lot of fun to 'taste our way thru the Triangle! said WRAL-FM Copywriter/Air Personality Jami Caskey. I even tried the bubble tea, which Ive been curious about Tough to pick a favorite, but if I had to, Id go with the buffalo chicken egg roll from Fords Fluent NFood Catering.

MIX personalities visited with guests and sampled the fare, as well as posing in the photo booth with listeners.

Lots of full and happy people, said WRAL-FM Promotions Director Jason Newton. I saw Jim Kelly change clothes mid-way through trying to disguise himself so he could go back to sample more food.

MIX 101.5s Savor the Triangle is truly a group effort for the station, and one they are happy to host for foodie listeners.

Im so thankful for our promotions, programming and on-air staffs as theyve worked tirelessly to make this event as great as it is, said Grube. I also deeply appreciate the efforts of our sales staff, jumping in to help wherever necessary.
