(NYSE: CNK), the worlds highest attended motion picture exhibitor, today announced that five new Cinemark XD Extreme Digital Cinema auditoriums have opened recently in the cities of Boynton Beach, FL; Baton Rouge, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; Grapevine, TX; and Mission, TX.

These five new XD auditoriums have opened just in time for the holiday seasons biggest movies, including Skyfall, Breaking Dawn-Part 2, Life of Pi, The Hobbit and many others.

Cinemark XD, the companys premium large format experience has been identified by customers as the perfect environment to enjoy a movie. The XD auditorium is always the largest in the theatre complex and features a wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screen, plush seating and a custom sound system with higher end components and 7.1 capable digital surround sound. The digital images are delivered by a Doremi server and a Barco DLP digital projector, which offers the brightest light standards in the industry. The Cinemark XD auditorium always exhibits the latest movies every week, including 2D and RealD 3D pictures.
