Elizabeth Weil and Michael McLean Join Institutional Venture Partners

Menlo Park , Calif. August 27, 2008 Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), a premier later-stage venture capital firm, is pleased to announce the additions of Elizabeth Bailey Weil and Michael McLean to their investment team. Elizabeth joins IVP as a Senior Associate and will focus on Internet and digital media investments. Michael joins the firm as an Associate and will emphasize communications and wireless investments.

Prior to joining IVP, Elizabeth worked at Menlo Ventures as an Investment Analyst. Elizabeth was instrumental in Menlo Ventures investments in OnRequest Images and RF Surgical, while also working on the firms investments in LensVector, Reactrix Zimbio, Golden Gateway Financial, and NComputing. Previously, Elizabeth was the Manager of Marketing at online gaming company Xfire (acquired by MTV/Viacom). She also managed Marketing and Financial Planning at AuctionDrop, the first eBay drop-off company and was an Analyst at Radar Partners. Elizabeth has an MS in Management Science and Engineering and a BA in Economics from Stanford University.

Prior to joining IVP, Michael was an analyst at JPMorgan in the Investment Banking Division in San Francisco. While at JPMorgan, Michael worked on strategic and financing transactions for a number of leading technology companies within the Internet and digital media, software, semiconductor, and communications verticals. Michael earned a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University.
