SA actor Greg Kriek making waves internationally --

In less than a month South African actor Greg Kriek a 27 year old from Cape Town will be getting his big international break in the form of getting to play one of the main villain roles alongside Morgan Freeman, James Purefoy and ex Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, in Momentum which will be out in cinemas on 16 October in the USA and Europe before coming to South Africa later this year.
Having had the honour of working alongside Hollywood Heavyweights was nothing less than a dream come true, says Kriek, I think I ll probably only realise it fully once I see it on the big screen.
Kriek is also acting in the lead role in another two movies hitting the South African big screen in the next two months.
In Last Ones Out Kriek plays an American technician who is forced to rely on the help of three local strangers as they try to make it out alive from an Ebola virus mutation-induced Zombie outbreak in Southern Africa.
Last ones Out was part of the official NFVF delegation that represented South Africa in Cannes this year. Kriek also took on the challenge of producing the movie which will be released on 6 November.
Getting to go to Cannes for the first time was mind-blowing. On the one hand you re so proud to be representing South Africa on the other you realise how much you need to grow, learn and work to make an impact globally, Kriek says.
In N Man Soos My Pa Kriek makes his Afrikaans debut in a lead role alongside Sandra Prinsloo, Albert Maritz, Neels Van Jaarsveld, Elma Postma and Antoinette Kellerman. This heart wrenching family drama about a rocky father-son relationship will premiere nationwide on 16 November.
Audiences may remember Kriek as one of the finalists in the 2012 Top Billing Presenter Search or from the big screen in Born to Win where he acted in the leading role and Mooirivier which came out earlier this year.
The past two years have been an incredible ride for me, getting to act in three different languages, travel internationally and to receive two Best Actor nominations in Hollywood is so humbling. I do not take for granted how blessed I am to do this full time. I just want to keep getting better at this and keep honing my craft, Kriek comments.
