It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. What a profound truth! A realization that eases the grip of life on man surrendering to God in all things. Partake in this feast as we consume food for the soul, nourishing the spirit in Breaking Bread. It is Monday, 25th July 2022.

God Loves Peace-makers The word 'shalom'' in the Hebrew language means peace but also to have the fulfilment of peace in God. It is the kind of peace which is not empty, but filled with love and righteousness. This kind of peace will never allow us to store fear within ourselves.

There is a definite confusion on how the world understands peace and the peace Jesus Christ brings to us. The peace that comes from Jesus is not based on circumstances, it does not wait for good or bad circumstances. It also does not come through the show of power or an iron fist as in the world we are living in. No, the sign of the peace of Jesus is the birth of a helpless baby born in Bethlehem and a powerless man who died on the cross of Calvary.

The peace that we should have is the peace that will take our burden of sins from our shoulders. This peace breaks the walls of separation between Jew and Greek, Christian and non-Christian, slave and free men. We must have peace filled with love. We must always be aware that God is the centre of our peace. God gives his peace to us as His children as a gift, as a grace.

PRAYER Lord, we pray for Your peace. Our souls are sometimes like a turbulent sea. Please use Your peace to calm the winds and storms in our lives. We pray for peace in this world, not just for temporary peace but for everlasting peace. We pray all this in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

God skenk Sy vrede aan ons as Sy gelowiges as n gawe. Hierdie vrede is n verandering in ons gemoedstoestand waarin ons saam met die Psalmdigter Dawid kan se: Nou sal ek onbesorg gaan le en dadelik aan die slaap raak, want Here, U alleen laat my veilig woon''( Psalm 3:9).

Ons word vreesbevange en angstig in ons lewens en het slapelose nagte omdat ons vrede buite God gaan soek. Ons probeer om altyd om iewers anders vrede en rustigheid te gaan soek. Die gevolg hiervan is spanning, slapeloosheid en vrees. Indien ons vrede in God geanker is, sal ons ook in vreedsame harmonie met ons medemens leef.

Ons verhouding met God, deur Jesus Christus,moet gesond wees en verstewig word. God se vrede bied aan ons n nuwe produk naamlik n oorgegewe lewe. Al wat ons moet doen is om n lewende geloof in God te he. Vrede in ons gemoed is die stilte maar ook die wete dat ons in God se sorg is en daarom weet ons dat die geleenthede in die lewe groter is as die sorge.Wanneer ons God as die bron van vrede en vreugde ervaar en ons deur die geloof aan Hom verbind is, het ons die eerste tree gegee op pad na gemoedsrust en vrede.

GEBED Ewige God en Vader, ons siel is dors vir U vrede. Dankie dat ons kan getuig dat U die bron van ons vrede is en dat U alleen ons dors kan les. Amen
