Veteran actor John Kani has appeared in some of South Africa's top films and stage plays and is best known for his roles in Marvel's Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War and Netflix's Murder Mystery in 2019. On Wednesday 7 September, the 79-year-old actor revealed to CapeTalk that he will be reprising his role as Colonel Ulenga in the Murder Mystery sequel alongside Hollywood actors Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

JOHN KANI IN MURDER MYSTERY' Murder Mystery is a 2019 comedy film that follows New York police officer Nick Spitz (played by Adam Sandler) and his hairdresser wife (Jennifer Aniston) who take a vacation to Europe to reinvigorate the spark in their marriage. What is meant to be a relaxing vacation turns into a murder investigation.
Mzansi veteran actor John Kani plays Colonel Ulenga and is embroiled in the drama when billionaire Malcolm Quince (played by Terrance Stamp) is murdered.

At the time of its release in June 2019, Murder Mystery scored the record for the best opening weekend on Netflix.

JOHN KANI BAGS A ROLE IN MURDER MYSTERY 2' Speaking to CapeTalk about his upcoming projects, John Kani revealed that he had bagged a role in the Murder Mystery sequel and had wrapped filming.
I just finished Murder Mystery 2 with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Paris. We shot in Hawaii and London. I'm working on another project with the Disney family which [because of] the confidentiality clause, I cannot say more, said Kani.
It's such a wonderful project to work with people who know your work, who recognise you and respect your work.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE SEQUEL As per Variety, Murder Mystery 2 will be directed by American filmmaker Jeremy Garelick and written by James Vanderbilt. Adam Sander and Jennifer Aniston will produce the comedy film under their production companies Happy Madison and Echo Films.
Hollywood stars set to feature in the film include Jodie Turner-Smith, who is best known for her roles in Queen & Slim and After Yang. Tony Goldwyn, best known for his role in the Oscar-nominated film King Richard will also star in Murder Mystery 2.
