2015 Simon Sabela Awards call for nominations --

The third Annual Simon Mabhunu Sabela Awards will be taking place on 19 July 2015 at the Durban International Film Festival, which runs from 16 to 26 July. The awards celebrate outstanding accomplishment within the local film industry, with a special emphasis on the KwaZulu-Natal province.
The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission is inviting actors, filmmakers, producers, film teams and other industry players to nominate their recent work. As these awards form part of the Department of Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs incentive, they are an integral part of the film industry s annual calendar.
Please note the closing date for nominations is 11 July 2015 at 17h00. Download entry guidelines and forms from the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission website.
Actors, actresses, student filmmakers, directors and various other film technicians will be honoured at this award event, within the following categories:
Best actor
Best actress
Best supporting actor
Best supporting actress
Best newcomer actor/actress
Best screenplay
Best director
Best use of KZN as filming location (Best Feature Film)
Best IsiZulu film
Best documentary short
Best documentary feature length
Best micro-budget film
Best student film
Lifetime achievement (x 2)
