Talented actor Cornet Mamabolo, who played the character of Thabo Tbose Maputla in SABC1's soapie Skeem Saam has joined 1Magic's telenovela The River.

CORNET MAMABOLO: I KNOW YOU MISSED ME' The actor Cornet Mamabolo, who took a break from Skeem Saam in October 2021 as Mapitsi's husband Thabo Tbose Maputla confirmed he's joined the award-winning telenovela The River on his Facebook account.

The businessman and actor On Thursday shared his new gig on his social media fans with a picture of two actors from the telenovela.

I know you missed me on your screens, I'm coming different this time.

Sunday World reports that Mamabolo took a break from the educational soapie to focus more on his insurance business venture.

It is unclear at this stage what role the actor will play on the telenovela!

HIS SKEEM SAAM' CHARACTER Mamabolo, who joined Skeem Saam in 2021 played the role of teenager Thabo until his character grew, got married, and left Turfloop for a business opportunity overseas.

SABC 1's educational soapie revealed that the actor has taken a break from the show to focus on his interests.

The show revealed the news on its Twitter account in September after a viewer asked the show if Mamabolo is permanently leaving.

Mamabolo is the second star to join The River in season six after legendary actor Siyabonga Thwala, who joined 1Magic's telenovela as Bangizwe Zwane.

Drum Magazine reveals that Thwala's character is a businessman who wants to win Lindiwe Dikana's heart.

Thwala joins the show after the departures of actors Hlomla Dandala who plays Lindiwe Dikana's husband Zweli Dikana, Lawrence Maleka who plays Zolani, and Tango Ncetezo who plays Paulina.
