YahLive, the High Definition television satellite broadcast platform and the Home of HD' for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, announced today that it has expanded its distribution network of YahLive-certified dish installers to nearly 500 technicians across the GCC region in order to make its exclusively HD TV channel bouquet available to more households across the region. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an estimated 300 satellite television dealers and dish installation technicians were recently certified in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam as part of the YahLive HD Academy GCC Roadshow, which provides proprietary technical training in HD TV and dish installation.
Broadcasting from the powerful Yahsat satellite Y1A at 52.5 East, Abu Dhabi-based YahLive aims to create an extensive MENA HD installation network to support the growing HD TV demand in the region. Following the successful completion of the three KSA events and one in Kuwait city and Dubai, YahLive plans to complete a total of 24 HD Academy events in 2013 with the ambitious goal of increasing its dish installation network to 2,000 installer by year-end 2013.
Mohamed Youssif, YahLive's Chief Executive Officer commented: The Saudi market is witnessing dynamic growth in its broadcast sector, specifically in HD. The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture and Information has recognised this growth and demand for HD broadcasts and is undertaking various initiatives to support the migration to HD. Our partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information began last year with six Saudi TV channels being broadcast in High Definition (HD), exclusively on YahLive's satellite platform and the launch of three HD academy events in one month's time in KSA demonstrates our commitment to deliver the YahLive HD experience and make it accessible to as many Saudi TV viewers as possible.
YahLive leads the MENA region with the most number of HD channels on its platform. Currently, it has an exclusively HD bouquet of nearly 50 quality channels, including those from Saudi TV, MBC GEM Group, Dubai Media Incorporated, Abu Dhabi TV, Cartoon Network Arabic, Russia Today, and Russia Al Youm.
