GoPro Congratulates Aletes for Succe at X Games Aspen

First Time in History Athletes Rocked GoPro Cameras During Competition

SAN MATEO, CA (January 28, 2013)- GoPro, maker of the world's most versatile cameras and producer of today's most engaging content, sends out a huge congratulations to its athletes who participated in X Games Aspen over the weekend. GoPro athletes were a huge part of the X Games action throughout the week, competing in events across the board including Ski and Snowboard SuperPipe, Big Air and Slopestyle, as well as Snowmobile Freestyle.

History was made during Men's Ski SuperPipe Finals on Friday night when David Wise sported a HERO3 camera during the final competition, taking home the gold. GoPro athlete, Tucker Perkins, also rocked a HERO3 camera during the finals, coming out with a sixth place finish. This marks the first time in both GoPro and X Games history that athletes were allowed to mount cameras on their helmet during a final event.

GoPro athlete, Shaun White, won his sixth SuperPipe X Games gold medal. On his second run, White set a new record boosting a 24 foot, 1 inch backside air, scoring him a 98.00 that clinched his spot at the top of the podium. A truly epic way to close out the events at X Games Aspen 2013.

GoPro athlete and Norwegian native, Torstein Horgmo, scored a perfect 50-point run during the America's Navy Snowboard Big Air Competition on Friday night, with a switch backside triple cork 1440, the first ever landed in competition. With two previous X Games gold medals to his name, Horgmo now adds another to his collection.

Jamie Anderson came onto the X Games scene back when she was just thirteen-years-old, competing in Boardercross, stepping into Slopestyle competition at age fifteen. The now twenty-two-year-old Anderson is riding and competing in her ninth X Games. She was the clear standout on Saturday night, claiming her fifth Jeep Snowboard Slopestyle Women's gold medal.

Two new GoPro athletes also secured medals, Kaya Turski a silver in Women's Ski Slopestyle and Elena Hight a silver in Women's Snowboard SuperPipe. And Daniel Bodin earned the gold medal spot at the first ever GoPro Snowmobile Best Trick event.
