ionoco is to be the exclusive game-control and graphics-systems provider for the next generation of TV3 game shows. ionoco's systems and technology are driving the Irish broadcaster's 2014/15 game-show slate, which includes Zodiak RDF's Sitting on a Fortune, Soshefeigh Media's The Algorithm, and the second series of 3studios, STV Scotland and GroupM Entertainment quiz show The Lie.
ionoco stage-control and game systems are at the heart of The Lie, in which teams of contestants compete to win a cash prize by identifying the untruth in a list of otherwise true statements. The company designed and supplied a range of tech to deliver graphics to the main screen, trigger sound and lighting effects, supply host and production information feeds, display graphic information for the audience at home and power the contestant's touch screens.
TV3 and ionoco have been working together since day one on these large scale, impressive studio formats requiring complex programming and functionality, said Andrew Byrne, TV3 Group head of development and new formats. Each programme is unique within itself. Crossfire, The Lie, Sitting on a Fortune and our soon to be produced The Algorithm are all major international co-productions with global appeal. I've no doubt that this interest has been further driven by the high spec production values and content that has been created within TV3's Sony HD studios, encompassing ionoco's impressive gaming systems. 3studios is now truly a leader in the test-bedding of new ideas and development of international content.
